Frequently Asked Questions
Why Choose Your Millennial Therapist?
Many of my clients come to therapy already self-aware. They understand their patterns intellectually, but those patterns still show up in their relationships.
Insight alone doesn’t changes relational patterns. Interrupting them does.
My work focuses on pattern interruption, helping you notice moments where familiar patterns appear and learning how to respond differently.
Many clients come to me when they feel stuck between:
• Loyalty to family and independence as an adult
• Success on the outside and confusion in relationships
• People-pleasing and the desire to live more honestly
The goal is not simply understand your past, but building healthier ways of relating in the present, with partners, parents and yourself.
Who Is Therapy For?
My approach works best for people who:
• Are self-aware but still feel stuck in relational patterns
• Want more honesty and depth in their relationships
• Are open to reflection, challenged & gentle call outs
• Are curious about how culture and family dynamics have shaped them
Therapy with me is proactive, collaborative, thoughtful, and sometimes uncomfortable, because meaningful change often requires seeing things differently.
If that resonates with you, we will work well together.
Who Is This Therapy Not For?
My approach may not be the best fit if you are looking for:
• Quick advice or surface-level coping strategies
• A therapist who simply validates without challenging patterns
• Immediate solutions without deeper reflection
My work focuses on understanding and interrupting relational patterns over time.
It’s best suited for people who are curious about themselves and open to examining how culture, family dynamics, and attachment shape their relationships.
Do You Only Work With Asian Clients?
While many of my clients are Asian millennials navigating cultural expectations and family dynamics, my work is not limited to one cultural background.
Anyone interested in understanding relational patterns, attachment dynamics, and intergenerational family systems may find this work valuable.
That said, many Asian clients appreciate working with someone who understands the cultural context shaping their experiences.
What Can I Expect For My First Session?
The first session is about understanding where you are and what patterns may be shaping your experiences.
We’ll explore:
• What feels difficult or stuck
• The relationship dynamics affecting you
• Patterns you may already notice
• What meaningful change might look like
No preparation is needed.
Most people arrive simply knowing that something in their life or relationships isn’t working the way they want it to.
What Would Future Sessions Look Like?
Once we’ve established the foundation in the first session, we begin exploring the patterns shaping your relationships more deeply.
This may include:
• Family dynamics and cultural expectations
• Attachment patterns in romantic relationships
• Communication and conflict cycles
• Emotional roles you may have taken on in your family
Each session builds on the last.
The goal is not simply talking about problems, but developing new ways of responding in real-life situations.
Can I Claim Money Back For My Sessions?
No Medicare rebates, as Psychotherapists & Counsellors do not operate within medicare.
But we offer Private Health Rebate. We are registered with Bupa, ahm & Medibank.
Do I Need A Diagnosis Or A GP referral?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to begin therapy.
Many clients come simply because something in their life or relationships no longer feels sustainable.
If you’re curious about your patterns and open to exploring them, that’s enough.
How Do I Book My First Session?
You can book a session through the Booking page on this website.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?
Meaningful change rarely happens in a single session.
Most clients begin with fortnightly sessions, which allows space to reflect and apply insights between conversations.
As therapy progresses, some clients transition to monthly sessions once they feel more confident in applying the skills they have learnt from therapy.
The pace of therapy is something we can decide together as we progress.
